Scooby – aged 2 years -Adoption Pending

Update on Scooby, now 4 weeks into his Residential Training – ideally we would like a potential Adopter to spend time with him whilst he’s still in Residential so that Scooby’s needs are met in full.

He didn’t have the best life until he came into our care and we are pulling out all the stops to ensure that his future is the best it can be. We are actively focussing on finding this lovely lad a new home. From his time in Foster, we learned that he would need extra help to prepare him for a normal life. He stole many hearts in the kennels and on his play dates and after his hard, abusive start in life he absolutely deserves the best chance

Scooby has been doing a lot of training around other dogs and been doing really well. He’s not reactive to anything, dogs, cars, tractors. He’s interested sheep through the fence but doesn’t bark. He’s been friendly with every dog he’s been introduced to, though he did posture a little with another male Dobermann through a fence, he was removed immediately. He has been fine with a small male terrier.
Scooby is ok with children outside the house, he walks past them on a lead calmly, as he is so clumsy we think that he is better with children over 14 as it wouldn’t be fair if he accidentally bowled into tiny child and knocked them over. Scooby could live with a calm female.
Next Scooby steps
· It will be better for him to go straight into his new forever home.
· The new family will be asked to go along and start doing some walks together whilst he is in Residential
· We would like to hand him over gradually and with support so that the transition works for the family and especially for Scooby.
