Mazikeen

Mazikeen is a beautiful 3 year old black and tan Dobermann who has sadly come into rescue through no fault of her own following a relationship breakdown within the family.
Mazikeen currently lives with four children and has proven herself to be a loving and affectionate companion within the home. She enjoys being around her people and can become excited when visitors arrive, always keen to say hello. Although she may bark initially when left alone, she settles quickly once she realises everything is okay.
She has lovely manners around the home, will sit and wait nicely for her food, does not show any signs of resource guarding and has been taught not to go on the furniture. She travels well in the car and, whilst bath time is not her favourite activity, she tolerates it well.
Out on walks, Mazikeen currently enjoys two lead walks a day of around an hour each. She can weave a little from side to side and would benefit from some ongoing loose lead training, although she is not considered a strong puller. Following a previous incident where she was chased by unfamiliar dogs whilst off lead, Mazikeen has understandably become more cautious around other dogs and is no longer let off lead by her current owner.
For this reason, we feel Mazikeen would be best suited as the only dog within the home where she can fully relax and build confidence again. With careful and sensible introductions, she may in time be able to enjoy some calm, neutral canine friendships. Unfortunately, Mazikeen cannot live with cats.
Mazikeen is currently entire and will be rehomed with a neutering clause within her adoption agreement. Her vaccinations are also out of date and will need restarting by her adopters.
Mazikeen is a lovely girl looking for a stable and committed home that will continue to guide her with kindness, patience and understanding while allowing her to settle into the next chapter of her life.
