Varro is a 4-year-old blue Dobermann who was imported from Hungary. As per our protocol, he has been fully tested by a UK vet and is negative for Brucella Canis.
Varro is a bright, affectionate boy with huge potential in the right home. He is friendly and welcomes handling, enjoying human interaction. However, he can become over-excited when meeting new people and may jump up. He hasn’t had much structured training or meaningful engagement in his previous life, which means his impulse control is still a work in progress. With clear boundaries, consistency, and positive reinforcement, this is very achievable.
He is crate trained, although the crate is not currently a positive space for him. If confined without enough exercise or stimulation, he can become bored and frustrated. Going forward, Varro will need a balanced routine that includes proper physical exercise, mental enrichment, and reward-based training to help him feel settled and fulfilled.
On walks, Varro is strong on the lead and will need ongoing work on his manners. Due to a lack of regular exercise previously, he’ll need to go back to basics and gradually build up both his fitness and his skills. He is currently lacking muscle tone, but with the right commitment to regular activity, this should improve well. We’ve also transitioned him onto a better-quality diet and are hopeful this will enhance his skin and coat condition over time.
Varro is looking for:
– A single-dog / single-animal household
– An adult-only home
– A calm, structured, and predictable environment
– No cats
– An experienced owner confident with large, powerful breeds
In the right, experienced home that can provide leadership, routine, and enrichment, Varro has every chance of becoming a far more balanced and deeply rewarding companion.
If you feel you could offer Varro the active, structured lifestyle he needs, we would love to hear from you.
