Dixie has come to us in partnership with another rescue after sadly suffering a broken leg following a road traffic accident.
She is around one year old and, due to her age, is still entire. Dixie will be vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption and will be rehomed with a neutering contract to ensure she is spayed when age appropriate.
Despite everything she has been through, Dixie is a very friendly and sociable girl who enjoys human company. However, she is currently struggling with being left alone, which is likely linked to the trauma of her accident and her prolonged hospital stay. She will need a patient, understanding and committed family who can gently build her confidence and help her feel secure again when left for short periods.
Dixie travels well in the car and due to the nature of her surrender sadly we have no history of her being around children or cats. She does currently pull on the lead, so her new family will need to be prepared to continue her training and work consistently to improve her lead manners.
Aside from her leg injury, Dixie is otherwise a fit and healthy young dog with so much potential ahead of her.
Full medical and rehabilitation information will be shared with prospective adopters. Due to her ongoing recovery and the need for close support during rehabilitation, we will only consider homes commutable to Lincoln.
If you feel you could offer Dixie the stability, commitment and kindness she needs as she continues her journey to full recovery, we would love to hear from you.
