This handsome 4-year-old Dobermann has just come into our care through no fault of his own and he’s already stealing hearts! Shadow is currently under assessment, but it’s clear he’s a real star in the making.
He’s intelligent, affectionate, and eager to please with a bag full of tricks and plenty of love to share with his future forever family. Shadow has a good drive but isn’t over the top. He’s well-mannered and knows his basics: he’ll wait for permission before eating, and will sit and wait calmly at the door before heading out.
Dogs: Shadow hasn’t lived with another dog before, but with slow and managed introductions he can enjoy polite play with dogs who have good manners and aren’t too pushy.
Cats: Sorry, no cats for Shadow.
Children: He’s previously lived with young children, but we feel he’d be best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy kids (10+), as he’s a big clumsy boy!
On walks, Shadow responds well to clear boundaries. He can pass other dogs calmly; he notices them but doesn’t bark, lunge, or growl.
Any prospective adopter would benefit from working with a trainer to help Shadow settle in, strengthen the bond, and support his independence in his new home.
