Delta is a stunning 2-year-old black and tan Dobermann with a gentle soul and a love for the quiet life. She’s recently returned to our care, as she found living with another dog too overwhelming. Because of this, Delta is now looking for a calm, pet-free and child-free home where she can relax and feel secure.
In the home, Delta is a dream she’s happy, clean, and rarely barks. She isn’t destructive and is happiest curled up on the sofa or stretched out by the fire after a play session with her favourite toys. She has a playful side and enjoys a good chew, but overall she’s a laid-back companion who thrives in a pet free environment. Her love of toys and play is the way to win her heart and we are looking for a home with time to spend building that bond.
Out and about, Delta walks nicely on lead and can calmly sit and wait while other dogs pass at a comfortable and safe distance. She’ll need an owner who understands her need for space and can advocate for her by avoiding close interactions with other dogs. For this reason, she won’t be suitable for homes where she’ll be expected to socialise with other dogs or have visiting dogs in the home.
Delta can be nervous around strangers, particularly men but can also accept men that are in the home or visit often, so she’ll need patient adopters who are happy to let her build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her affectionate and loyal nature really begins to shine.
She’s used to wearing a basket muzzle at the vets as this can be a stressful environment for her, and she handles passing livestock sensibly when on lead.
Delta has recently had a full behavioural assessment since returning to us, which will be shared with any potential adopters to ensure the very best match.
