Juno is making her way to Lincs under incredibly sad circumstances.
Her owner suffered a life-changing illness during lockdown and, due to shielding, Juno missed out on important early socialisation. Two years ago, the family then experienced the sudden loss of their partner. Now, with her owner returning to work while still battling long-term health effects, the heartbreaking decision has been made to rehome Juno.
This is a dog who has been deeply loved since she was 8 weeks old. She hasn’t had the start in life her owner would have wished for but she has always had love.
About Juno
Home life – Clean in the house, doesn’t climb on furniture, sleeps in the kitchen. Can be left for 3–4 hours.
Walking – Walks beautifully on a lead and head collar, no pulling. Only let off lead in a secure field.
Car travel – Lacks confidence getting in and out; this will need gentle confidence building.
Temperament – Anxious by nature. She has required sedation at the vets due to her anxiety and can express her worries when overwhelmed. She needs a calm, confident handler who will kindly take the lead and help her feel safe.
Other dogs – Previously lived with a calm dog. We feel she could potentially live with a neutral, steady dog who allows companionship on her terms and at her pace.
Children – Has never lived with children and has had limited interaction, so we feel a child-free home would be best.
Prey drive – High. No cats or small furries. She can walk past livestock calmly as long as they are not too close.
Toys – Not particularly interested.
Food – Very food driven, which is a wonderful tool for bonding and training.
Health
Neutered
Vaccinations up to date
Has had surgery to remove two mammary gland tumours (classed as pre-existing; ongoing cover supported by Lincs)
