Hunter

Hunter is a striking young male Dobermann turning 1 in November 2025. He has come into rescue due to his previous owners feeling overwhelmed and inexperienced with the breed. He is already a fine example of his breed – big, bold, and full of potential.
Hunter is currently in foster care and undergoing further assessment, but one thing is clear: he is a clever, affectionate, and playful boy who just needs the right guidance to thrive.
Hunter is looking for an experienced, confident Dobermann-savvy home where he can continue to learn structure, boundaries, and polite social skills. He’s still very much a puppy in both body and mind, and at over 40kg, he needs a strong handler who can help channel his energy and enthusiasm in the right direction.
Due to his size and bouncy nature, he will not be rehomed with young children and is not suited to elderly or families with frail members.
Hunter is extremely friendly and affectionate – expect a kiss and a lick when you walk through the door! He is still learning not to jump up when greeting people – a work in progress. He is very well-socialised with people and is used to being out and about.
Hunter has lived happily with two cats in his previous home where he also lived with older teenagers – who were respectful and gentle with him.
When it comes to other dogs, Hunter loves to play but can be a bit overenthusiastic – he’s still learning doggy manners. He would benefit from meeting calm, confident canine friends to model good behaviour.
Hunter would thrive in an active, structured environment with someone who has the time, patience, and breed experience to continue his training. He needs consistency, clear boundaries, and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. In return, you’ll have a loyal, loving, and fun companion who’s ready to be the very best version of himself.
If you have not completed an Adoption Application and been homechecked, you will not be considered for any of the dogs in our care.
